At the Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation, our mission is to guide young adults (ages 18-40) through the challenges of a cancer diagnosis by connecting them to meaningful social support programs and services. We understand that healing goes beyond the physical battle—it’s about finding strength in community and addressing the emotional and mental impact of cancer. Our goal is to meet young adults where they are in their experience, providing the support they need to navigate their unique path with confidence and hope.
Central to our mission is Base2Summit, our premiere camp program designed to empower young adults through adventure-based experiences, fostering resilience, connection, and personal growth. This program is at the heart of what we do and where much of our fundraising efforts are focused—ensuring we can continue offering life-changing opportunities to those who need it most.
As a Marketing/Communications Intern, you’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience, directly contributing to our mission of supporting young adults navigating cancer. You will be instrumental in helping develop engaging content, executing targeted outreach campaigns, and honing essential skills in graphic design, and web content management. This role is part of a collaborative team, who will challenge you to support growth and learning.
This internship is primarily remote, following the traditional college calendar: Fall/Spring/Summer
While not mandatory, an ideal candidate would be available for one volunteer week at our Base2Summit house in Interlochen Michigan. This opportunity is currently available for three separate camp programs (Dates vary yearly but typically June, August & October). During this time you will be deeply immersed in our culture while supporting 12 young adults living post active cancer treatment.
This internship offers a modest stipend.
